Mommy knows bestPutting Hayden down for his nap has become the most adorable yet heart breaking time of the day. As we walk down the hallway he senses the imminent sleep time. He quietly begins to whimper and protest. The moment I lay him down in the crib the burst of shear heart break and terror in his face and body language is almost impossible to resist. I want so much to pick him up and cover him with hugs and kisses. Instead, I cover him with his fuzzy blankets and walk away. I want to second guess myself and run back to rescue him, but this is against my better judgment. I know nothing is wrong with him, he is safe and only needs some time to rest. So now I wait. Fortunately it isn't long before I am rewarded. Less the two minutes later the crying instantly stops. Less then five minutes later I peek in and find him sound asleep. Mommy knows best.
